Singapore Day 3 (3/3)

It was finally time to say goodbye to Singapore.

I woke up again at 6:30 in the morning. :D After saying goodbye to Ige and Kuya Loogz, we checked out of the hotel at around 8:20am. The time of our flight was supposed to be at 11:30am so we just went straight to the airport. We took the MRT to Changi airport and we ate at McDonald's inside while Facebook-ing (there was free WiFi). The flight was delayed for 30 minutes so we arrived in the Philippines at around 3:30 in the afternoon.

That's it for our Singapore trip. It was really worth going there to watch the concert. Argel and I will definitely go back to go to the other places that we weren't able to visit.

And thanks to dearie for deciding to go to Singapore with me for the concert. :)

Singapore Day 2 (2/3)

Argel and I were in Singapore and it is Distant Worlds day! :D

I woke up at 6:30 in the morning and got ready for the day. Why so early? Because I always take my time taking a bath and getting my hair dry. :p We were to meet Marien at 9am at Boon Lay, quite far from where we were. We were 30 minutes late due to Argel's getting a bit lost finding the 7-11 when he bought us breakfast.

And so we met Marien at 9:30 and she took us to Jurong Bird Park. This was extremely tiring since it was hot and we were walking, and some paths were uphill. We saw so many birds even though we only got to traverse a small portion of the park's footpath. The amazing bird show at 11am was a great way to end our trip to the park. We left after the show since were to have lunch with the Castros at Esplanade.

We ended up at a Thai restaurant. Spicy food again, but this time, we know the food is safe to eat. Marien then warned us not to eat at the Indian eateries in Geylang. It was too late for Argel and I though (see Singapore Day 1). After lunch, Marien said goodbye after taking a few pictures with us inside Esplanade, then it was time for the concert.

The concert. I had goosebumps during the Liberi Fatali opening. Also during the next song To Zanarkand, and the next Don't be Afraid, and the next... what the hell, everything was just great! And Nobuo Uematsu was there! And he was two rows away from Ige and Kuya Loogz! Loved the encore One-Winged Angel of course. After the show, there was a 20-minute authograph signing with Arnie Roth (conductor) and Nobuo. Too bad we didn't make it. I think we were the 12th or 15th in line when the session ended. At least we saw Nobuo up close. :) Argel even has a picture with the maestro! Haha

After the concert, Argel and I went to Sim Lim square where we looked for the digicam Ralph requested us to buy for him. After looking at all the shops, we ate at Burger King, then we went to Suntec Mall to do a little shopping. After purchasing pasalubongs for our families, we walked back to Esplanade. Esplanade again? We were hoping we'd get in line for the autograph signing for the evening show. We weren't allowed to. The session was only for the evening show goers. :(

And so we decided to go to the Sentosa Flyer to end our whole day walkathon. Afraid of heights, Argel spent his time sitting down. XD

We took a cab to the hotel since we didn't want to take a long walk to the MRT station again. When we arrived at the hotel, Ige sent a message saying they were able to get autographs pf the maestros. T_T He even showed us the video of them getting autographs when they finally got back to the hotel.

Day 2 ends here.

Singapore Day 1 (1/3)

As some of you may know, I was in Singapore with Argel (and Ige and family) for almost 3 days. The main purpose of the trip was to watch the Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy concert.

We arrived at Changi airport at around 1:30pm. We then took the train to the MRT station nearest our booked hotel. The first thing we did when we left the train station was to look for a place to eat since we were hungry because it was way past lunch time.

The only stores we could find were those owned by Indians and we were a little hesitant to eat at first. But since we were really hungry and it was hot and we were tired from walking, we finally decided to eat at this eatery, Imam - Banana Leaf along Geylang road (if I'm not mistaken). Food was spicy and was served in a banana leaf. The next day, Marien warned us not to eat at the Indian food eateries along Geylang since there was a case of death due to food poisoning sometime in the past. Good thing we are still alive.

After eating, we walked to the hotel and inside, we saw Ige and his family checking in. We went to our respective rooms and after resting for a bit, Argel and I decided to go out and start our exploration. Since we were to meet the Castros in Harbour Front, we decided to go there directly and walk around Harbour Front Center. Sometime later, we saw Ige and his family and we took the Monorail to Sentosa. Strolled around for hours until it was time for the Songs of the Sea show. This show was awesome! Fountains plus lasers combined with great music... Legendary!

We were supposed to go to the Night Safari after Sentosa, but it took us a long time looking for the bus and we didn't make it in time. So we just ate dinner at McDonald's and I must say that the Beef n Slasa flavored burger was delectable. Yum yum. We went home afterwards.

Day 1 ends here.
