Wordplay

I learned just a little while ago of something that is very funny. Peyt, my not so little brother, told me that during my graduation celebration almost two weeks ago, my aunts and uncle from Isabela where overheard by my UPD friends in one of their conversations. My aunt then suddenly said something like this:

'tangina nga na mabba!

Peyt said my friends wondered why my aunt was nagmumura. Hahaha

My relatives are from Cabagan, Isabela where Ibanag is the dialect used. 'tangina is short for kitangina, meaning very expensive. I think they were talking about the celebration expenses, or maybe of my graduation dress, or maybe of the house repairs expenses, or maybe just about anything that is really expensive. :D
