For the past few weeks, my Mami and my aunt were keeping themselves busy with Scrabble. They'd play it whole day long... after doing the chores, after eating, before going to sleep... You'll think they were aiming for a world record of having the most number of games played in a day. They have played a total of 81 games already, 40 of which are won by Mami.

Anyway... when Mami asked me to check the spelling of some word in our M-W Ninth Edition dictionary, I skimmed over the listed words and the entry goon caught my attention.

goon /'gün/ 1: a stupid person, 2: a man hired to terrorize or eliminate opponents

You see, there was a time when Norman had Ma'am Joy for post advising during registration, and she didn't approve of the subjects Norman had enlisted for himself so she didn't sign his Form5. After that, Norman said something like, "Siguro mukha akong goon sa buhok ko kaya di niya pinirmahan..."

So when I read the definition of goon in the dictionary, I thought... did Norman think he looked like 1 or 2, or both? :D
