EGAH

Yet another Engg Choir related post.

Last night, the Engineering Grand Alumni Homecoming was held at the NBC Tent. Just like last year, the Engineering Choir was invited to sing the doxology and the national anthem for the event. We were also asked to "serenade" the jubilarians this year with a Bituing Walang Ningning choral piece. Nice. :D Sayang, we had to cut the song short kasi kulang sa oras for practice... It's such a beautiful song pa naman.

We had dinner, kasama kami dun sa buffet. Oha! 1Kphp na libre din yun! :D

Pagkatapos ng EGAH, diretso naman ako sa Shang walk to meet Argel and some of the CNL guys. We stayed there until the band stopped playing, and then umuwi na. :D

Haaay... baka yun na yung last na gimik ko before my sem starts. Boo.

BBQ Night with the IML Cool Guys

Last night was, as the title says, a BBQ night with the IML cool guys at Sir Bryann's house. Sir Dean and Sir Arnold were there, also Gian, Winston, Jayrald, and of course, Bryann, and... last but not the least, yours truly. ;) This BBQ event was organized by the cool TA whose office is at SAL, Sir Dean. If I'm not mistaken, Winston paid for the BBQ we cooked, Jayrald shelled out money for the softdrinks, iced tea, and a little booze, and Gian brought french fries. Lots of 'em.

We had a very late dinner at 10:30pm. Conversations during dinner will be undisclosed here. ;p After eating, we immediately went to the TV room where we played the fighting game Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2 (I must get that game). I came out the victor for a number of battles but alas... I wasn't meant to remain unbeaten. My fingers got tired of the semi-button smashing I was doing so Winston finally beat me. Anyway, great game for all the Naruto fans out there. :D

Dean was forced to end the story mode he was playing when the other guys wanted to start videoke-ing. I was given the honor of singing the first song for the night since it was, as they said, my 'first' IML outing. :D Songs at the start of the videoke session were upbeat and fast songs. We were munching on fries and then popcorn while singing.

Gising pa lahat for videoke!

And we were supposed to each have a can of beer - San Mig (mine was San Mig Light btw). I don't drink, and it was supposedly my first time to empty a can of beer... I didn't like the taste. After the third sip, I really couldn't stand the taste anymore so I set the can on the floor as Arnold told me to do when I didn't want to drink it anymore. Dean emptied the can in the end. :D

While Gian, Dean, and Arnold were already sleeping, our (
Bryann, Jayrald, Winston, and I) songs turned to mellow tunes when we had no more energy left. We stopped singing at around 3:30am. The first and last songs were mine, and I also held the record for the highest score - 97. Lucky! :D

Kwento-kwento again until the sleeping people woke up and joined in on the conversation. We left Bryann's house at around 6am, and I arrived home at 7am.

BBQ night was definitely a fun night. After all, it's not often that I see my labmates give their all when dancing while singing. XD

Edit: Check out Bryann's multiply for BBQ night pics!

Eng'g Alumni Homecoming

Wow... nakapapagod (pagod pero hindi makapaghintay ng bukas para mag-update ng blog haha).

Some of us from enggchoir were already at the Manila Polo Club by 9:30am because they said that we were allowed to have a soundcheck only in the morning. But it turned out we were too few to have a decent soundcheck so we decided to ask the director if we could possibly have it in the afternoon so we could wait for others to arrive, and he said, "Of course! We have all afternoon for that." And we were like... hmm... o-k... pwede pala yun, sana hindi na kami nauna. But being early turned out to be a good thing. Libre lunch namin eh. :D

While waiting for the others, we went to a room and found a baby grand piano. We practiced for a bit until a lady said that we should coordinate with the "admin" first before using the piano. We stopped practicing and just sat there singing songs from musicals and Disney movies. At syempre, nagpicture-picture din kami.

Hey! There's Engg building! The stage. Cool isn't it? :)

The ladies at Engg steps? Hehe From left: Mon girl, Eden, Sarah, and Claire.

Gwapong Gabo and Elmaganda before the performance. XD I'm wearing uber-light make-up. Di kasi ako marunong mag apply mag-isa. I really need those kikay sessions from Fil. :D

We sang Hear My Prayer and the National Anthem. Kumusta naman? Pinalakpakan kami after kumanta. Tama ba yun? Hahaha

Gabo and Sarah after the performance. Where did they get those drinks? Haha

After the performance, we ate, nag-kodakan, at umuwi na ang iba. Will post more pics when Sir Omar uploads them. :)

Ayun.
It was a super fun day for me. Kelan ulit kakanta ang enggchoir? Baka sa graduation na. In the meantime, galit-galit muna sabi nga ni Jon. Awitan na eh. :D

I Wanna Singa!

I just came back from dinner with the Engg Choir at Trellis, a place kinda like Mang Jimmys minus the 2+1 promo. You see, we sang for the intermission and the UP Naming Mahal at the ITTC Recognition Rites and the person in charge gave us money for dinner after the performance. Nice, eh? I was so full (I think because of the iced teas) I couldn't move for some time. :D The food was delicious, and dinner was enjoyable; there was constant laughter, and a little bit of singing too.

Haaay... I'll miss singing. Wait, I already said that in the previous entry, didn't I? I want to sing! I want to learn new songs! Haaay... When I think of Awitan days... I always say to myself, "Dapat nag-Awitan ka nung 2004." Well... If I could turn back time, that's one thing I'll change in my life - I'll join Awitan 04.

So there, we left Trellis around quarter past 10, so jeepneys that enter the campus are a bit rare already. It's a good thing Gabo took me to the tricycle station at Tandang Sora. That way, I was able to go to Katipunan a lot quicker. He is such a nice friend. :)

Recognition Rites

This morning was the Engineering Recognition Rites. I don't know why, but I didn't "feel" anything. Si fil pa nga yata yung naiyak eh, hindi ako. To think that it was our recog rites, not hers. :D

Hehe... Anyway... thank God I joined the Engg Choir in doing the National anthem, an intermission number, and the UP Naming Mahal. In a way, I felt "special", being able to be on the stage more than once. :D Nasulit ko yung stage. Haha

Haaay... I'll miss singing. I'll miss Gabo teaching us songs to sing.

What a Day...

I see a long post coming up due to a series of unfortunate and fortunate events...

I am finally home again after two days of living in the eee building, and I must say that yesterday, February 10, 2006, has got to be the weirdest day I've ever had. It started with staying up 'til 5am of playing cards and table tennis, and of having so-called bonding sessions with '01 pips plus Ma'am Dae. We had a very meaningful conversation, and people were letting out what they really feel about certain things. Anyway... with less than 3 hours of sleep, it was the first overnight that the first thing I didn't do upon waking up the next morning is take a bath. Instead, I ate breakfast and went directly to my class, and then took a bath.

Yesterday also marks the first time that I had a zero for an MP. Yep I scored nothing. None. Nada. Nil. Zilch. I was not surprised though... I was expecting that grade. But what I hate the most about the whole thing is that I did not try hard enough to do the MP. Yeah, I exerted a LOT of effort in that MP, but that still is not enough because I know I could have done more. *sigh*

Next, we, the circuit choir, sang the National Anthem for the EEE Alumni Homecoming. Actually we ate first. The food was delicious, but I didn't enjoy it and ate only a little since my stomach suddenly decided not to cooperate with my being a glutton. *sigh* And then, when we finally sang, it was very unfortunate that that was the time that I did not get the first note of what I was supposed to be singing. So... I ended up being out of tune for the first half of the anthem, and I was praying that Rose would release her dragon voice since I lowered the volume of my singing so as not to ruin the performance. But, after the anthem, I learned that Rose was also out of tune, and did not use her dragon voice, meaning, there was only one alto who was singing, and that was May, but she also told us that she 'got lost' somewhere and was only mouthing lyrics after that. *sigh* I was better during practice. *sigh*

After the anthem, we went down to the other event, EEE Night. We were supposed to be watching the performances of the orgs, but we ended up hanging out at the tambayan, putting anyone we wanted to be at the hotseat. My turn came, and gosh... I am the type person who can't express her thoughts clearly vocally, so I don't know if the people got my message right - if they understood what I was trying to tell them. But you know what, those questions got me really thinking... about stuff... and until now I'm still thinking about those questions and the real answers from me. *sigh*

Anyway... that's it. The weirdest day ever. Hmm... I probably have left out some funny/important details since I am really, really sleepy. I may have to edit this sometime...

*sigh* Life can be confusing at times...
